Specialty tea producer selects Sage Software Business Partner Lexnet, and Sage CRM to provide its powerful CRM solution.

San Francisco, CA—November 1, 2007—Lexnet Consulting Group today announced another successful Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software implementation, this time for Mighty Leaf Tea Company, a premier manufacturer and distributor of handcrafted tea and accessories. The solution Lexnet Consulting Group designed is based on the award-winning SageCRM product from Sage Software.

Mighty Leaf Tea Company had been using contact management software, but it was not sufficient to meet the company’s growing needs. Remote sales staff had no access to the software, so internal sales staff acted as data entry clerks, rekeying orders and confirming customer preferences for the remote team. Additionally, the software did not interface with Sage MAS 500, the company’s ERP System, so customer data had to be maintained in two programs.

“Before deciding on SageCRM, we evaluated a number of systems, including Salesforce.com,” said Debra Nichols, manager of business operations for Mighty Leaf Tea Company. “When we compared the overall cost of ownership, SageCRM was the clear winner. Plus it has a very appealing and intuitive user interface that we felt our staff would embrace.”

Today, Mighty Leaf Tea Company’s remote staff members enjoy secure, rapid, real-time access to SageCRM through a Web browser. The integration of SageCRM and the company’s ERP system means that details such as customer balance, terms, last payment amount, open orders, and invoice line detail are available to the sales and customer service staff within SageCRM. New customers are entered directly into SageCRM and the details flow into the ERP system, automatically creating a new customer there.

“Our sales cycles are shorter now,” said Nichols. “We’ve eliminated the back and forth that used to occur between our outside sales reps and our internal customer service staff because they now all have access to the same data. The integration with our ERP system means that staff has access to customer purchase history. They use this understanding of the customer’s business to encourage them to try new products—and its working.”
